Hello,

I have a quick question for anyone who has attended the Rosen College of Hospitality. I know that students still have to take their core courses at the main UCF campus and travel to Rosen for Hospitality classes. Does this become annoying? Also, would you recommend freshman live at Rosen or the main UCF campus? Rosen sounds like a wonderful place to live.

Thank you!

My daughter went there and would NOT suggest living at Rosen as a freshman because it does not have a college feel. It does get to be a pain to travel and a car is a must since the shuttle does not run often enough. PM me if you have more questions and I will have daughter respond.

Hi rv4life, I agree with TooRealistic about living on the main campus instead of Rosen, as nice as it is there! My daughter is a Rosen grad and is so glad she lived on campus (apartments/Towers until she moved off campus junior year). She had so much fun at UCF and got a great education, and living on campus gave her the whole college experience, football, tailgating, campus events, etc. She took the shuttle for the first two years and wasn’t really inconvenienced. Once she started her internships she really needed a car, but if you can avoid gas/tolls which really add up in $$, take the free shuttle! Also, you will be able to take some gen eds at Rosen. I think it is just too quiet over there to live full time, and might begin to feel like high school with such a small population. Go live at the main campus and meet kids from all majors…network, network, network, and have fun!

Thank you the wonderful reply! That is very helpful. Now if I can only afford it!

You’re welcome! Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. It’s a GREAT school and if you work hard and pursue valuable internships it will pay off when you graduate!
