Ross Preferred admit 2020

The Director of Unergrad admissions said these are the kids who often have equally good or better choices…so we’ll see. Plus, they can adjust the regular pool if they are wrong?

Does anyone know if these acceptance rates are for everyone that put down pre-admit on their original application or just those who were accepted to another school and actually had their Ross applications looked at?

Just those accepted to Michigan. Ross doesn’t even see an app unless or until they are accepted. If not, it is never sent to Ross.

@HRSMom I know Ross doesn’t see the apps unless they are accepted to the university, but I wasn’t sure if they also counted denials to the university as denials to Ross or just didn’t count them at all

They don’t count them at all I believe…

Will the students receive notice either way (accepted/denied), or only accepted? I would think they would start rolling out soon.

@Teamd44 just got rejected today  Heard from a friend that he got rejected as well. Good luck to you.

Just got admitted! So excited!

ACCEPTED!! Got the email at 5 pm est. The email was in my spam, so make sure you check there.

My son got into Ross. So happy for him. He got a couple of B’s in AP class, I thought his chance is slim. But I guess his strong leadership helped.

@lilpoodle It’s alright! You seem more than capable enough of getting in preferred admit.

no decision for son yet…

Son is accepted today. Another student in his school is also accepted. Both of them were accepted by UMich in December. Today’s decision is probably just for those accepted in December.

@lilpoodle , I sympathize.
My son was rejected today :frowning: . Admitted to CoE.
ACT: 36
SAT II : Math II 800, Chem 780
UW GPA 3.97, 8 AP total
In-State, Ross Legacy, Research Intern at UM.
Reasonably good ECs. Maybe it was his essays but who knows?

Wow, just heard from my son that his friend who is THE number one student out of 1500 got rejected. He is better in every category than my son. I am truly shocked.

Here is the stats for his and my son’s

ACT 36 vs 35
Gpa UW 4.0 with many A+ vs 3.95 with many A-
15+ AP with all 5 vs 9 AP with a couple of 4s and B
Soccer captain and state champion vs tennis captain and all state
Math competition winner vs some DECA regional award
Both NHS presidents and other presidents of clubs
He is also captains of math and science clubs
play piano vs no music

I feel SO lucky for my son. The only thing I can think of is my son took some business electives since freshman year while the other kid took all the hard math science classes. Maybe it shows my son’s continuous interest in business?

Just can’t figure out why not both kids accepted.

Admitted!
