ROSS vs. WHARTON

I was accepted to Ross preferred admit and Wharton. THey are both fairly equal on academics (Ross #5, Penn #1) and they are both very social schools. Since I'm out of state for michigan and recieved no financial aid from either, both would cost about the same. Any suggestions/ help in deciding?

Wharton, Hands down. :)

yo tcttennis, question for you:

What was your application dated as on Wolverine Access?

Wharton in a second.

Wharton is clearly the best undergrad business program in the nation, and possibly grad.

if i were u, i wouldn't even consider Ross if u got into Wharton!
UPenn is #1, no doubt about this.

definitely Wharton.

I'm proud to be a wolverine but lets be realistic, Wharton is the premier business school-bar none.

I would go with Wharton. Michigan is more fun than Penn and Ann Arbor is more pleasant than Phili, but Wharton is Wharton!

So I'm seeing a unanimous vote for wharton! I just want to make sure since I mean it is Michigan pref admit...and I know how hard it is to get into that...

Wharton no hesitation

Ok...I'm in the same position EXCEPT I'm in-state and Ross may end up being free or very close to it. Wharton, on the other hand, would probably be $5-7k per year.

Still Wharton?

Go with your gut... listen to others, but make up your own mind. You have two great choices. Wharton is number 1, no doubt. The Preferred Admit Program is amazing... you will receive special treatment and advising that Wharton can't match because of sheer numbers. If you choose Ross, make sure you won't have any regrets about taking #3 over #1. You should also consider life outside the B-School. Do you want Ivy League or major college sports, etc.

Pyro, Wharton will cost you $6,000/year as opposed to $0 at Ross? At that level, I would say cost isn't an issue and I would still go for Wharton.

Of course, that's assuming you guys don't love Michigan significantly more than Penn. Chosing Wharton over Ross if you really don't like Penn but love Michigan would be a bad decision.

I got a preferred admit acceptance at Ross, too. But, Penn (CAS) deferred and then denied me. Cornell accepted me (Arts and Sci)...go figure. Admissions is crazy

Rosssssssssssssssssssssssss

Wharton Wharton Wharton!

Thanks guys. This was pretty much my thinking too; even if Ross is free, $6k for Wharton is still a great opportunity.

If nothing else, the question is would I be able to forgive myself for declining Wharton. It is a once in a lifetime chance so it is unbelievably hard to decline it.

Yeah I was thinking the same.

I've decided to go to Wharton....thanks everyone for your help!

I have another question. I'm not sure how Ross preadmit works, I will technically have enough credits to have sophmore standing. In this situation, do I enter Ross immediately, or am I still stuck in LSA for a year?

If I can enter/graduate from Ross in 3 yrs, while saving $20-25k, does that then make a difference in my decision?
