Hey LabRat I was accepted too!! I’m super stoked!! What department r u gonna be working in??

what were your stats when you got in? did you get to see what your counselor wrote?

Does anyone know where the form is for the teacher recommendation? I can’t seem to find it anywhere O.o

There is not a form, the teacher just needs to write a recommendation letter.

For the question from a couple of weeks ago on seeing what the counselor wrote, the form the counselor fills out is strictly a numbers form, no comments on you personally. Test scores, class rank, etc.

^Oh I see, thank you.
Just to give teachers an easier time, do you know what is usually included in these types of letters?

Well, most teachers are used to writing them for colleges. So most of them have a pretty good idea. You might ask the teacher if they are willing to help, but let them know there is no set format. Then offer to send an email to them with link to the program and some information on why you are interested in it. That gives them some context for the letter. I would get right on this, as you only have a couple of weeks, and you don’t want your teacher to feel rushed. Let them know you need the letter in a sealed, signed envelope to enclose with your application.

Anyone heard back yet this year?

I applied this year and when I received the email confirmation that my application was received, it also said that applicants would be notified of their status within 2-3 weeks. That was about 4 weeks ago, so I emailed the director and he said that decisions should be mailed in 1-2 weeks…

Kamapa, when did you email the director (just wondering when to start counting that 1-2 weeks from). It looks like notifications last year came out in mid-April. I see a lot of posts around April 18 from last year with results; it would be nice to hear earlier, of course.

He replied to me on Thursday.

I got in for Cell Stress Bio! I will be working with Dr. Ulas Sunar. I haven’t seen anyone post about their past experiences yet. Would someone be willing to share?

When/how did they notify you :o

share stats?

@jeffreychu94: congrats! could you please tell me if you submitted a resume? It wasn’t on the application checklist, but they later mentioned something about a resume on the website…

I thought decisions were coming out mid-April. :-

^ hmmm yeah, I didn’t include one either. guess I didn’t get in
but seriously though, you would think they would put in under the checklist…

Jeffreychu94, how did they contact you? Email, letter, call?

I got in too!!! I WAS SOOO HAPPY! I was accepted to work in Radiation Medicine. For those who are waiting for Jeffrey to answer, I received an e-mail with a letter attached to it.
If you are accepted, PM me. I’m interested about dorming cause I’m out of town. It says dorms are ~$3500 but stipend is only $2100. Hmm… hopefully its summer dorms are cheaper than semester dorms.

I’m revisiting the application and it says “All six items should be mailed in one envelope.” I just put all of my materials in one of those priority mail envelopes. Would this have disqualified me? I’m trying to find a reason why I still haven’t heard back yet.

Are they sending out acceptances first and then rejections? Has anyone received a wait-list or rejection yet?

Congrats to those who have been accepted already though. It sounds like a great opportunity.

That sounds like “one envelope” to me, theking101. I would not worry about that as an issue at all. I do not think everyone has heard (my daughter has not heard). If it is correct that jefferychu heard ealier this week (although he has not been back…), and Alexander heard yesterday, they may be sending them out by department or something.

Hi, I got in the program, but I was wondering if anyone else could open the attachment the administrator sent you and if so how and what exactly does it contain, can someone please outline this. Thanks.
