<p>My D has an interview this week @ AMC for Union..any advice? Was it stressful? Were you impressed with the program?</p>
<p>How is RPI's BA/MD program in comparison to Northwestern and BU? From the other rankings I have seen, it seems that NU is more highly regarded. But I got an interview for Northwestern and BU, but not RPI. I guess I am just upset since I thought I had a slightly better chance for RPI and wanted to go there.</p>
<p>HPME certainly had a better reputation. But at the undergraduate level not sure how much of research is emphasized compared to the research focus of the RPI undergrad degree.</p>
<p>AMC gets student from three different colleges rpi/siena/union...all with different emphasis and focus.
How does AMC intergrate these divergent student body and what is the main philosophy of this medical school. ...more research based, more community practice based?</p>
<p>A student told me that AMC grades based on a normal curve so that students 2 standard deviations above the average get Excellent and those that are 2 standard deviations below get Fail or whatever is the lowest. Since everyone is competing with each other, I'm sure there must be some way to integrate such a diverse range of students/interests. But thats all I have heard so far... I'm also wondering how it works.</p>
<p>its G for good, E for excellent, and EH for excellent with honors for the top 2 in a class, below G you suck</p>

<p>What kind of reputation Albany medical school has in that area? Its very hard to guage as we are not from the North East!</p>
<p>I live in Rochester, right near U of R Med School (which is a VERY good medical school) so comparatively Albany Med is alright; not bad. People say its at least better than Upstate... soo... its good.</p>
