Ruined college chances with 1 quarter grade? (11th grade)

I attend a private school in a large city where I’ve made (until this recent quarter) a 3.49 gpa with test scores including a 29 act and 1300 sat. My school takes final grades by quarter, letting each class a quarter equal 0.5 credits. I failed algebra 2 due to an increase in work load and general laziness. This is clearly my fault, I had not adequately prepared for the difficulty of last quarter given how easy the rest of high school had been with the same effort level.

That same quarter I made an A, a B in an AP class, and another B in a senior physics class. My gpa has fallen to a 3.1. I’m very concerned about how this F will affect my chances of going to college in places like the University of Oregon, UARK, Oklahoma University, and similar universities. Yes, I am taking algebra 2(b) again next semester and I plan to have made an A, along with the rest of the school year since I have since adjusted to the difficulty level and realized the effort required. The second algebra course will not replace the F. Thank you for your replies and generosity with helping me.

Concisely, how will an F from one quarter and immediate and lasting improvement affect my college admissions.

Thank you again!

I think with immediate and lasting improvement that you will be fine for the colleges you are targeting.
