Rutgers Academic interest question

I have already been accepted into Rutgers SAS and SEBS but i wanted to go in for premed. I read online that most premed people do Biology as their major, so i put down Biology/Life science for my first and Biochem for my second. Than as my friend was doing his app i saw PREMEDICINE down in the list. That freaked me out since my app was set in stone.

My question: Is the academic interest the major you HAVE to go into if you do go, or after you accept your offer of admission, you can choose the interest. Yes i realize premed is not a major but it is still a academic interest option.

I am really freaking out over this and even called the office but since it was the 30th and its right before the dec 1st deadline they didnt pick up.

I have not accepted the offer so i was hoping i can pick premed, since i did pick biology as my first academic interest.

Take a deep breath and calm down. U shouldn’t be freaking out…Premed basically is the same thing as putting down biology/chemistry/biochem…If u put premed ur basically saying that u still didn’t choose whether ur gonna do biochem/chemistry/bio/etc. And u don’t have to “go into” the major/academic interest u chose. If u get accepted to SAS than u can choose what ever major u want in SAS…it doesn’t have to be what u picked. So don’t worry ur still gonna do premed.

That was a good answer mufasa.

I am disappointed when original posters don’t come back and acknowledge that someone took the time to answer their question.

Thanks mufasa.

thanks for the acknowledgment rualm,I appreciate that u took ur time to thank me
