Which dorms are the best on Busch campus? I know we don't get to choose which specific dorms we want to live in but when we do find out, I'd like to at least know what I'm getting myself into lol. Same thing for Livingston and College Ave since those are my backups.

The Suites on Busch are nice – although they should have completed the new dorm building on Busch this past year, although I have no idea how those are.

Livingston doesn’t have very nice dorms, unless they’ve recently completed the new dorm buildings they were building all around Livingston?

No idea about College Ave.

I thought suites were only for upperclassmen? Idk lol. And the Livingston buildings will be complete by the time enter my freshman year this fall:) Thats why I was debating whether I should go to Livingston as my first choice since the new dorms would be complete but then I also thought, maybe upperclassmen would have first dibs on them so I chose Busch as my first choice…The thing is the Rutgers site doesn’t show you great virtual tours of the actual dorm rooms so thats why I wanted to know specifically how they are.

Sometimes Freshmen are placed into the Suites on Busch, but you’re correct – they are primarily for upperclassmen.

I also think that the new buildings on Livingston are primarily for upperclassmen?

Last year the new building on Busch was, if I remember correctly, for incoming freshmen? I’m not sure if it is this year as well?

I’m unsure as well. I just assumed that upperclassmen would get first choice at Livingston… The new dorms would be the only reason I would choose Livingston, I heard that campus was boring.

There’s a mixture of Freshmen-only and upperclassmen buildings on Busch/Livi.

For Busch, the freshmen only dorms are Davidson and the BAMMs (Barr, Allen, Metzger, Mattia). Their newest building, BEST, is a mixture between years, it depends more on your major (Science majors only). The Suites usually don’t hold freshmens, though I believe if you’re in the Honors program you could get McCormick (the Suite’s Honors building). I know freshmens who were in there.

For Livi, you have the Towers (Freshmen) and the Quads 1 & 2 (Freshmen) while Quad 3 is for upperclassmen. As far as the their newest building, Livingston Apartments, I don’t think any freshmen will get them because the spaces were all filled up already with sophomores and up and graduate students. It is also Business major prioritized, but not limited too.

^hope that cleared up any confusion on buildings and who they’re able to house!

Now for the buildings themselves, if you get any of the BAMMs, you’ll be fine. They’re all 4-floors and house a lot of students, co-ed and your neighbors with the other buildings. Davidson is the worst dorm on campus (one floor, no AC, Davidson A and D are single sex dorms) but to be honest, you’ll probably end up being very close with your floormates if you make the effort to talk to them. I was in Davidson A and I hated it at first because it was all males and it just sucks but the guys around me ended up being like family.

No matter where you’re placed, just make the best of it, trust me. You’ll have a lot more fun that way. Good luck!
