Alright, So I was wondering how is recruitment at RBS NB. Do major banks recruit there such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc.? Are these jobs competitive to come by? Well, that's a dumb question, but competitive on campus? How many undergrads do these banks take? I've been looking at elite schools like Penn and Georgetown...they are just so expensive and hard to get into.

I assume you are currently a HS junior?..

I’m not sure, but I do know that the RBS provides opportunities to get to know many companies. I have seen bus trips organized (by the school) to several well-known firms. There are frequent career fairs and networking opportunities. I think it helps you if you are a dedicated student (good GPA) who is willing to participate and make the most of your networking opportunities. Start thinking about your resume and what things you plan to be involved in once on campus.

The prices at the elite schools you mention are, as you said, $$$ and a crapshoot to get into. I would still apply, but have your backups in place. Also apply to less exclusive private colleges; you may get nice merit money that you didn’t expect. Rutgers is a good value but it is huge and you may get more money than you think when you apply to some privates.

as an RBS student i can say yes the big banks do come to RU to recruit. However, they dont come here as often as some of the more prestigious business schools. I think the main difference is that RBS is still up and coming, while most of the prestigious schools have been ranked highly for a long time. many of the recruiters themselves went to those schools, and as alumni they pick students from their schools. Over the last few years recruiters from the big firms have started to come here. I dont know the exact numbers on how many they take from RU but i do know it is quite competitive.

Thanks guys. Basically confirmed my thoughts.
