Rutgers Camden Class of 2022

Hey guys, I’ve recently committed to RUC as a nursing major and I was wondering if anyone else committed to Camden as well. A lot of people don’t come to Camden, so it would be nice to be going in knowing a few faces/names!

Really close to committing. Have to see what happens to the rest of my college applications.

Hi, I just committed to Camden Nursing!

OOS accepted to CS Program… What’s it like there?

@Cmada38 Camden is the smallest Rutgers campus. New Brunswick is the largest (and it is really big!) While Camden does have housing, the majority of the students seem to commute. The university has been very involved in the revitalization of Camden and lots of construction/change in the waterfront area going on now. Will you have the opportunity to visit? Accepted students day is this Saturday and Rutgers Day is the 28th. I attended summer classes there many, many years ago & my son is seriously considering though will commute.

@Jeni82 I’ve been looking on line about the area how’s the area is it still considered one of the most dangerous cities

@Cmada38 Yes, you will find concerning articles and the city definitely has challenges. At the Open House, we were told that three police agencies patrol (Rutgers, Camden County and Port Authority.) I feel safe on campus and walking to/from the train. A visit to campus would be a good idea if possible. If not, i think it is important to know that the area around campus has few shops/restaurants and no food store (just a 7-11.) You would need to take a train to Philly or one of the SJ suburbs, or have a car. If I were “dorming”, I might prefer easier access to a downtown area with more retail.
