Do you have a “Complete your SRAR” red tab above the Application Checklist? ( possibly somewhere else on page if your screen size is not 16:9) This will take you directly to the SRAR
If not, this is likely the disconnect- you may have a technical problem and admissions does not realize the root of your inquiry.
Alternatively, you can also try this direct link to the SRAR: Self-Reported Academic Record | Scarlet Computing Solutions (scarletcs.com)
No, There is absolutely NOWHERE on any part of her portal except the screenshot I posted that even mentions SRAR.
The tone of the admissions person who responded was not friendly. My daughter detailed the issue and admissions just said we do not take outside sources (not even official transcripts) they rely totally on the SRAR which is obviously not there.
IF they do not take “outside sources” into consideration should she even waste her time? This link is an outside source.
My daughter explained all of this,
Just google SRAR and have her log directly into the SRAR website. She doesn’t have to get there via the application portal.
Many state universities use the SRAR or something similar. I’m surprised that your daughter didn’t see instructions anywhere. My daughter got an email about the portal with a link the SRAR that specifically addressed adding college courses. I’m not the biggest Rutgers fan myself, but I think this one is not on them.
For a hs graduate they don’t need the srar, just a final transcript, but D21 (taking a gap year) has had trouble with Rutgers and their portal checklist. I swear they don’t know how to process her application and it keeps getting tossed into the problem pile!
That SRAR section just disappeared from her portal, but still, no SRAR reporting anywhere.
It’s moot now…she just told me she emailed them to withdraw her application.
If you send your kid away to school. They have got to have resources to problem solve. She is very well-spoken, conscientious, and extremely organized. More than likely it was some sort of technical issue, but she was treated like she was doing something wrong.
As I said, she is my fourth child getting ready to attend college.
I had one go to a state school the other two privates. They all went far away.
She has been dual-enrolled and has college experience in communicating with professors and offices.
I’m sad, but the stress isn’t worth it.
Penn State UP was on its portal.
None of the other 3 kids ever had to do a SRAR, but this child did for Penn State and obviously Rutgers, but how would she know since there was no way to do it?
She has also filled out the SRAR in the coalition application that the school downloaded.
Not to mention they received transcripts and mid-year reports.
Rutgers has their own app and it was redone this year. SRAR was not required for D, but the link was in at least 1 email.
In any case, Rutgers is so large that her experience with admissions does not represent the rest of the school. I’m sorry that it didn’t work out.
Well, they didn’t put the link in the two email inquiries she made regarding it.
My son is at NYU. My oldest daughter went to a very large state school in CA.
We are used to big schools, but both were very responsive and helpful.
I am not sure it is reasonable to associate 1 person in admissions(who is likely stressed from responding to 50,000 inquires) with an entire organization.
I included a direct link to Rutgers SRAR and you responded it is an outside source. This seemingly suggests you may be allowing your frustration to get in the way of finding a solution. As someone else mentioned, you could have found this using Google- this is what I did. I am not judging; we are all stressed this time of year.
I responded that it was an outside source, because the admission rep said they don’t accept any outside sources for grades.
Her college (she’s dual enrolled) and school sent mid-year grades and reports in early Jan which both were downloaded by Rutgers, but still this SRAR?
Makes zero sense and you see what her portal looked like. That was the only mention of a SRAR. It’s too bad they don’t have designated admissions counselors like other colleges.
I am understanding of the stress one might feel in admissions. I might have had more grace if this hadn’t been the second inquiry regarding the same topic.
No one bothered to even send her the link you posted.
It’s the very same SRAR she did for Penn State. It’s one set of data that’s shared across all colleges that require it for admission purposes. All that was needed was to change In-Progress grades for midterm grades.
Many colleges prefer to have data in the same format and easily accessible. A pdf transcript from a GC is more difficult to use than SRAR.
Penn State’s SRAR was on her Penn State portal.
No confusion except that she had done it on the coalition application as well for Penn State. She emailed them and they told her she still needed to do it again on their portal so she did. Simple…
The SRAR is fully accessible even without the portal just like @NJFather said. You would have got to the very same data that was shared between Penn State and Rutgers.
She got into University Park.
She was told to do the SRAR on Penn State’s portal.
Today is the first time I have ever seen that link. It wasn’t recommended by any of the schools my daughter applied to including Rutgers.
It doesn’t matter anymore. Thank you all for trying to help. I don’t have a 5th child so this knowledge of this SRAR website might help someone else if they come here with the same confusion.
I was frustrated because I grew up loving Rutgers, but this is her journey and she needs to feel supported in it.
You all are superstars.
Thanks again.
Good luck to your daughter!
A pity about the entire SRAR misunderstanding.
Once in the SRAR you just add another school. Really not difficult.
Thank you. I am sure it’s not difficult, but if you read my comment above, we never knew such a website existed before today, but I appreciate your comment.
Only two schools required a SRAR on my daughter’s list. Ironically both state schools; however, the other had it on their portal.
