So I was accepted into EMSOP , Rutgers Nursing NB, And SAS NB, I don’t really wanna do Pharmacy I just applied to see if I’d get in. I did nursing just to see if I’d get in too but then I really considered it. I thought about being an APN or a nurse anesthetist. But I think I’d wanna be a doctor.
I was gonna do nursing and become something in that field and eventually if I didn’t like it I’d try for med school and become a doctor. Any advice. My siblings said do SAS. I thought about nursing increasingly bc it’s somewhat prestigious but so is pharmacy. But I can’t see myself packing pills for the rest of my life. Thank you
Based on what you say you want to do, I think the best course of action would be to choose the School of Nursing. Within your first two years, after you take some introduction to nursing courses, you’ll be able to determine if that’s what you want to do. If you decide not to at that point, you can always switch schools and enroll in SAS for pre-med.
It is a lot easier to switch from any other school to SAS than it is to switch from SAS to another school.
I’ll be enrolling in the EMSOP 6 year program this fall, and FYI, not all Pharmacists go into retail and pack pills for a living. My plan is to do a PharmD/PhD and then spend a career in drug research & design.
anesthesiologist is the third best salary currently. For what it involves, it is the best bang for your buck since doctor is way more competitive, and standard income for a nursing is slightly messy 30 year job.
