I have been accepted to RU Newark and will also get admissions into NJIT. My major is Computer Science and I am confused which one to select from both. I am looking for a college which is small where I can interact with students and professors and small class size. That is why i took off RU NB from my list.

So now I am confused between RU Newark or NJIT.

Rutgers Newark is a pretty nice campus. I go there for Economics. I applied and visited NJIT, and I don’t know if it’s just me, but I got an Elitist vibe off of them, so I turned them down. I’m happy at Rutgers-Newark. At Rutgers, there are some large lecture classes, but there are also a lot of small classes as well. I like my recitation classes, they are pretty small.

For CS specifically, NJIT should be a better choice since technical areas are its specialty. Definitely visit if you can. The two schools are directly opposite each other anyway.

When it comes to computer related majors, NJIT is somewhat stronger then Rutgers Newark… But many of the Computer Courses taken at Rutgers Newark, are taken in NJIT… So idk, I chose Rutgers Newark, b.c I heard the professors at NJIT are TERRIBLE, HARD, and grade irrationally… Also Rutgers is more social then NJIT, while NJIT Is more of a boring school… Also Rutgers has a much bigger name then NJIT. GOTO Cali, and say NJIT, and no one will know what your’e talking about… Say Rutgers, and you’ll get some attention… So its up to you…
