I was accepted back in early Feb to SAS. Just had my STAR day and not really sure what I am doing…seems as though all of my classes transerred except for freshman seminar… I took all core courses last year at the college I was going to. I think I might be interested in Communications…but what do you do for scheduling…finish your core courses??? What if you don’t need any more distribution courses? Is there a place on the website that gives you what you should be taking each semester as a guide for each major? Can’t find one and we weren’t given any real advisors to talk to except in a group… Help!!!

I understand I was there it was hectic. I think you should go to the Rutgers Degree Navigator sign in with your net Id and password. Next go to the top where it says search and type in let’s say Communications Major and click on the NB one for New Brunswick. It will show you exactly was classes you need or have taken for that major. it’s up to you when you want to take them. Keep in mind prerequisites.

i plan on applying to rutgers for fall 2012…will they look at my spring semester for 2012?

i am an OOS student at a university, my gpa is a 2.5 but it was due to various problems such involving family. i couldnt even make it to class most of the times, and i couldnt withdraw either because i was too far in the semester when it all started. however, i took 2 classes over the summer that have a pretty descent difficulty and aced them without a sweat. i have been studying and over looking at books to help me with my classes in my next semester and i have already covered deeply into a third of the courses. im sure i will have more than enough time to study and get through the classes efficiently this next year, and by the time i apply my gpa will be around a 3.0-3.2 (end of fall semester) and by the end of spring semester it will be a 3.1-3.3. i have a better advantage if they look at my spring semester grades am i right?

also i am an engineering student…so if i dont get in by fall 2012…then i might as well quit to apply again because i dont want to spend extra years than i already have to just to get my degree… is there anything i can do to strengthen my chances?

Chaser the deadline to apply for fall is before the end of the semester so they will not have your spring grades before making a decision. Spring grades will only be considered if you are waitlisted.

Any other engineering transfers here? I just found out my orientation is on July 20th.

I plan on transferring to Rutgers for the Fall 2012 semester after I leave community college and graduate basic training . I’m a New Jersey resident. I will graduate with a 3.5 GPA with an Associates in Criminal Justice and I will still be pursuing a Bachelors in Criminal Justice as well. Also I will be a member of the Army National Guard and will be joining the ROTC. What are my chances of getting in?

I’m still waitlisted for Rutgers engineering.
I’ve been waitlisted for more than 3 months. Should I give them a call/write them an email? To who though?
Is anybody else still waitlisted at this time of the year?

I got accepted to SAS which is my back up, but I don’t want to want to wait a semester to get into their SoE.

what was your gpa?

I was just wondering with a 2.85 GPA in an nj cc (I messed up due to some personal issues that can be explained) would I be immediately rejected from NB SAS? I know by the end of Fall 2011 my GPA will be at least a 3.3. I want to try and apply for Spring 2012. If I explained my issues do you think I have a chance? Or should I just wait until Fall 2012… though I’d rather get out of here faster lol an associates degree isn’t happening for me here for a while, bergen screwed me over with false info/guidance for a whole year. I ended up taking classes I didn’t need to take and now need to take an extra semester in addition to my 11 courses that I need to take.

tng - or any other transfer applicants for that matter - Your dedication to your school work shows for itself when you have a good GPA (3.3 in the future as you stated) and consecutive good semesters. If you want to get in some more core classes, take summer courses to boost your stats, or consider applying for Spring entrance when you will have a better transcript. As you move on in the courses you take, you will be challenged to keep the grades up. If you can pair success in key courses (calc, physics, chem, bio, etc… for my major) with consistency, I think you can get in to Rutgers University. Also, something important to consider is keeping a positive and motivated mindset when filling out the application and writing your essay. Look forward to future success and don’t bother spelling out any mistakes you might have made in your academic career. Everyone has made mistakes and the folks considering your application are not looking to judge you harshly, but looking to see if you have what it takes. Let the positives show that you want work hard at your future school.

I have over a 3.3 gpa right now and im applying for the spring semester right now with 47 credits, but Im taking 20 credits this fall so I will graduate, with a higher gpa. What are my chances for getting into rutgers New Brunswick, Im applying to be a econ major. Also I have great extracurricular’s and I work 40 hrs a week.

wow thats not fair…
