Rutgers Spring/Fall 2011 Transfers!!!

Congrats nic! It’s annoying how fast Newark is compared to NB - but I guess that explains why your status got updated last week - let us know if it looks they look at it again! I know they usually check it 1-2x before deciding.

Lisa - you also have a good chance. How long ago was the Penn State thing and with that included what is your cumulative? It shouldn’t hod you back much… Are you OOS?

VBC - Yup!

@VBCTea yes I have the same exact thing except for the SAT Score. I think all you have to do just wait. Rutgers received all my credentials 10 days after I submitted my apps Around November 10-11, I applied november 1st). Then they didn’t review my status until I sent them my Fall grade in january 25 2011. Then they reviewed my file again yesterday, feb 10.

Did you apply to another school beside New Brunswick?

@lexsi340 thank you !, I will let you guys know if they review mine again.

I left Penn state about a year ago. And honestly I don’t remember my gpa from there :confused: I just know that the last time I saw it, it was a 2.5. And no I’m an in state student

I’m still waiting. I applied in September and had all my credentials received in September. I thought I’d get a reply early since I had 40 credits at the time. I have 52 credits now and they received my fall transcript January 13. I have a feeling that they’re going to wait until April 15.

Ziggy, did u only apply to NB? What’s ur major?

Oh, cool, thanks for the information.

Also, is there a way to tell if Rutgers has begun to review your application? I remember reading previous posts in the past, where people mention the date changes.

Are they referring to the date that says “…received through (date)” at the bottom of the page? Even if nothing new or recent was sent, does the date change if they began reviewing your app?

Thanks again, and congratulations!

Ziggy - I think most of us should hear back by mid-march… That’s usaully when people hear back, let’s hang in there! Only like… a month and a few days left :slight_smile:

VBC - Yeah, when they show through a certain day, that means they’ve looked at your file.

Lisa - I know from previous years they like an upward grade trend… so there’s still a chance.

@vbctea thank you! Yes as lexsi said the date that they receive the credentials is the same date that they review your application. Did u only apply to New Brunswick?

Who knows when should we be expecting an answer from Rutgers NB?
My friend was saying latest MAY, but I think that’s way too long.
I was assuming maybe later this month or early next month at the latest?

Lisa - Well if you submitted your application by the priority date, then they have to tell us by April 15th.
But in past years, most people hear by midmarch. Really great stats (3.8-4.0’s w/ 30+ credits) usually hear back sooner.

@lexsi340 thank you! :slight_smile:
I hope we all hear from them soon. I know I’m not the only one who feels angsty about this!

And sorry this is my last question I promise :confused: but it’s about my friend. She also applied for Rutgers NB SAS, she currently has a 2.5 GPA and about 40+ credits but she has 1 F. Does it look like she’ll get in?

@Lisa
Yeah I tottally understand - I’m verry nervous. But htinking that it’s only like a month makes it much easier :slight_smile:
And don’t worry about the questions - this is what this thread is made for! Plus we’re all just as anxious and check it once a day at least…
Unfortunately, I don’t think she’ll get in, the magic ticket is 3.0+, and 2.5 just isn’t enough…

@lexsi thank you :slight_smile: this thread is really helpful! I try to get as many answers to calm my nerves

Oh no :confused: that really sucks. I’ve heard of people with 2.5-2.9 GPAs getting in. I wonder why? Maybe to fill their quota?

Hi everyone! I applied as a Fall 2011 transfer student around mid-January. I am currently a freshman at another in-state school, with a GPA of 3.79. My high school GPA was a 3.45, and I got a 1530 for the SAT (M+CR+W). By the end of the year, I will have completed about 30+ credits. Does anyone think I have a good chance for SAS?

@lisa
Me tooo, this site is getting more addicting than FB!
And I guess it’s “possible”, the few times I’ve heard of it are with people who have a cumulative 2.5, but only because there first few terms were bad… but their past two terms were like 3.5-3.8’s. It’s possible… but I’d say not a great chance.

@crunchmuch
You are most likely in - they don’t take into consideration SAT’S, so you should be fine.
What are you majoring in?

@lexsi lolol I thought I was the only one who was getting addicted

@lexsi340: Thank you for replying! I feel a little more at ease knowing I have a chance of getting in. I am a psychology major btw.

Hello all. I usually stick around The Science Major’s section, but I figured I’d stop by here. I was accepted to the Newark Campus today as an Environmental Science major. I applied back in mid/late Jan. and woke up today to a congratulations letter on the status page.

I applied as a Fall 2011 in-state Rutgers-Camden transfer Political Science major with a current GPA of 3.0. Very anxious! Kinda nervous, although people have been telling me that a 3.0 isn’t really that bad for a transfer student. How much longer must I suffer!? lol

@schooldude did they already receive your transcript? They gave an answer a week after they received my transcripts. Very quick.
And I think you’ll get in without a problem. My friend applied to rutgers Camden with a 2.5 and she got in.
You shouldnt be too worried.
Good luck :)
