Rutgers Spring/Fall 2011 Transfers!!!

Lexsi- Everything was received January 6th and my status hasn’t changed since. How about yours?
Nicwayfarer- Thank you!

TransferRU - All my stuff was received 2/2, so you should hear back soon! (No update either)

Applied to the School of Arts and Sciences.

4.0 GPA
21 College Credits
In-state
EC: Member of Phi Theta Kappa

Got all my stuff in on 1/31 hoping to hear the good news soon : D

@iAstonish: very good chance. I applied with 3.8 and got in last week. Another people with 3.9 got in too last week. How is your hs stats? I think they still want to look at your hs stats if you have less than 30 credits.

@Nic: Mostly B’s, nothing as stand out as my College stats, but no F’s or D’s either.

I also took advantage of the optional essay to explain why my College grades were much better than my high school (took a year off to work, matured, etc)

What date did you get all of your information into them Nic?

iAstonish, I would say you are definitely in… those 21 credits have already been completed right?

You’ll hear back soon with your stats, definitely.

@Lex: Yea, I’ve finished those 21 credits already.

@iastonish: they received all my credentials in January 25th. Then I got my acceptance in february 18th. I think you will hear from them soon. Good luck and keep each other posted.

That’s odd…because they received all of my credentials for Camden around January 15th…and I have yet to hear a word from them…except the little information brochures in the mail from time-to-time. hmmmmm…should I be concerned at all?

Nic, sounds good, I got all my info in about a week later than you, so hopefully I hear back soon.

schooldude - Even though you’re applying to Camden and 3.0 is their average… that might be the reason, you’re still “marginal”, not like the auto-admits with their 3.8’s.

I hope I get in haha

iAstonish, I am sure you are in… :)

Thanks :D

(10 char)

True Lexsi…I’m just praying and hoping for the good news! :D

When I was accepted, I was accepted with a 2.9. Now some may say this seems like a low gpa. The reason for this is because I started off shaky at first. But then my started to GPA progress higher and higher. So when they saw my transcripts and saw an increasing upward progress, this made them interested enough to admit me. Admission is not only about High GPA’s, but about progression. If they see that you are making good progress in school, work, life, etc. this will be the key to getting admitted. However if they see no change or a downward progression, that might make them think twice about whether to consider you for admissions or not. But the majority of you seem to have upward progression, so its just a matter of time.

I hope they look carefully at the classes I took this past semester. At the end of my freshman year and with two summer classes my GPA was a 3.7 when I took easy electives. Now, being a sophomore I took harder courses which left me with a 3.26. I have put in the same effort from the first day I started college. Hopefully they see that.

I’m sure they take course load into account.

My schedule is Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, General Physics II, and Macroeconomics. Plus I’m working so I don’t have enough time to study. My GPA is definitely dropping this semester, but hopefully not enough to rescind my admission :)

Don’t worry I have a 3.26 also it’s not that bad from what I heard. It be higher If I wasn’t working 30 hrs a week lol .
