Penn State 40,000 a year, only 5,000 in grants so total of 35000 a year to attend.
140,000 over a period of 4 years in dept.

Pros: I love everything about this school ! its perfect for me.
Cons: Tuition!

Rutgers Newark 24000 a year, 14,000 in grants, 2,000 work study, so total of 8000 a year to attend. 32000 over a period of 4 years in dept.

Pros: Tuition

Cons: I won't be able to dorm, I live nearby. :(

P.S. I really want to dorm !

First off, its debt lol but other than that have you looked into rutgers new brunswick if you want to dorm, its the same price but add on another 10,000 for room and board. And what do you want to major in cause depending on the major one school could be worth the money.

Go where you really love to be. You said Penn State is perfect for you, so go there, and you won’t regret in 4 years of your stay at Penn State.

How is it $24,000? Isn’t tuition like 12k plus the cost of books I guess? I think you are factoring dorming into this.

if u go to newark, it will only be 12000 and with all ur grants, its going to be really cheap, but new brunswick is where its at, definitely come to new brunswick if u want to dorm, i dont know why so many kids would rather go to penn state for double the money when its the same large state school education

Debt is not something to brush over in these tough economic times. When higher education was cheaper it might have feasible to choose your dream school, but when you graduate $140,000 in debt reality is going to smack you in the face. That is a HUGE burden that you will have to pay off. Trust me, as a graduating senior, I am stressed enough about finding a job/moving to NYC/going to graduate school and I am graduating without a penny of debt. That kind of debt will haunt you once you graduate and have to shell out huge portions of your starting salary each month. It is often hard to see from the perspective of a high school graduate, but looking back on my decision to attend Rutgers I am SO happy I didn’t go to an expensive school that would have cost me a lot more. This decision has left me funds to study abroad, travel a lot, live off campus, and go to graduate school.
