Safeties for B Students ?

Does anyone know any decent safeties for B students like me ? My major is business/finance and I prefer to live in the east coast.

what are your SAT scores? and what type of schools are you looking for? public/private, state schools?
Here are a few off the top of my head:
Western New England College
UMass of Amherst
University of Hartford
University of Rhode Island

try going to :: College Planning Made Easy | Inside Source for College Admissions Requirements and using the college matchmaker to find more

Would also include Delaware on that list. Tremendous business school for a Tier 2. Often overlooked by applicants due to its closeness to Maryland, Rutgers and Temple. You can drive to Philly or the beach with ease.

thanks for your replies.
I think I need 2 safeties, 1 of which is Suffolk in Boston. I don't know what I should pick for the other one. I wanna stay in PA,NC,NY or MI

I don't know that Delaware would be a B student safety OOS--maybe a match.

What state are you in? Generally your state flagship is a solid safety, if it's a tough one to get into look at satelite campuses (make sure you read up on them though- avoid commuter schools) and "lesser" state schools. Also, look for schools that are not "prestigious" overall but have a strong program in your major. Do you have SAT/ACT scores to share? That could help us see where you have good chances.

well my sat score is low, only 1800. that's why I'm desperately looking for safeties in case I dont get into my dream schools :(

bump bump bump I need helpppppppppppppp
In order to be easier for you guys, I will say something more about my stats: I'm INTERNATIONAL -Asian, coming to the US in junior year. SAT is pretty low (1800), will retake in Dec to get better score for RD. Academic courses are most rigorous I am able to take: AP Cal, AP Bio, the rests are Honor and 1 or 2 Lv1. I don't think I have GPA cuz I only have 2 years in the US, but I calculated my GPA in junior year was like 4.1 W.I'm going to Catholic High School. Few EC, only 3-4 volunteerinng. my major is business/finance. I prefer to live in the east, but I will take all your suggestions into consideration.
P.S: Am I a B student ? Or maybe C,D,E,F,G ...... :(

International changes a lot. Do you need financial aid? If so, you won't have any true safeties except for perhaps your in-state public if they give IS tuition to "non-residents" of the US.

well I don't really need financial aid. I can afford the tuition up to 35k/year. Basically I can get the aid from the government.

You should also consider Bryant (Rhode Island) and Bentley (sub-urban Boston). Both have strong undergraduate business programs with good alumni networks.

Loyola College in Maryland has a respected business school and its a fabulous Jesuit institution, GORGEOUS campus with some of the highest rated dorms on PrincetonReview. Your coming from a Catholic High School will help.

Fordham in NYC is a bit of a high match for you, but its College of Business Administration is simply one of the most under-rated off the radar screen schools around. Those kids get PHENOMENAL opportunities. Its a very rigorous school, but well worth it, and the price tag if you get in. My D is at Fordham and loves it. The kids she knows at CBA are all doing well and just HUGE Fordham fans.

For a real safety for you, Belmont Abbey in Charlotte NC is a gorgeous school, run by the Benedictines. I know a man who teaches accounting down there.

thanks for your replies. I'm counting on you guys because I don't know many collges in the US
please note that I need safeties that will accept me based on the stats that I gave you. I really wanna go to fordham or villanova, but now I have to think about some other schools :(

st. joseph's in philie?

yeah st.joseph sounds good. but more specifically, my SAT CR is not high. I can do pretty well in M and W, but very badly in CR. So if the colleges put the weight on CR, it will be tough for me :(

St. Joes in Philly is a good school and a reasonable alternative to Villanova. Since you are focusing on Catholic Schools and some Jesuits, then consider also St. Louis University, Xavier, Univ. of San Francisco, Seattle Univ., Santa Clara University and University of San Diego.

St. Joe's is a waste of money.

___ y is St.Joseph's a waste of $$$$$$$$$$$$? _________
lol I didn't say I wanna go to Catholic High School. though I'm going to Catholic high school, I'm not Catholic at all.

Because the education you receive does not justify paying $44,000 a year.

Legend-
Definitely St. Joes of Philly.
My friends daughter is a freshman there and everything about it seems incredible. She is also a business major and her stats were not outstanding. Lower SAT than you. Great community service which I think they like. She got good merit money for it too.
Out of all our friends with kids that started college this year, she seems the happiest.
Apply, you have nothing to loose.
Good luck.
