Anyone in-the-know have anything to say about this? Are Wesleyan and its environs friendly to runners? I'm interested in running alone sometimes (if not most of the time) and doing 5-12 mile runs. Hills and dirt would be nice. Cars I can handle...as long as there's a sidewalk. Wes runners...your opinions are very much appreciated :D.

plenty of people run around campus. the best place to go for longer runs is the southwest edge of campus past the gym in the long lane farm area. the school owns a lot of undeveloped land in that area, which most people don’t know about. I think that’s where the cross country teams compete. if you want to go on really long runs, I’d suggest going around Wadsworth Falls state park, which is about 2 miles from campus. I’ve biked there and it’s beautiful.

you can look at where the trails that cross country team trains on here: [Links/Resources, Men’s Cross Country, Athletics - Wesleyan University](<a href=“Wesleyan University - Official Athletics Website”>Wesleyan University - Official Athletics Website)

Wow, thanks jarsilver! That’s about the most helpful answer I could have received.
