<p>nyu is located in the safest precinct in new york city. it should be pretty safe.</p>
<p>i went to one of those info sessions and one of the student speakers said that he can walk through washington square at 4 in the morning and he always feels safe. nyu also has their own police.</p>
<p>the area around washington square/union square is amazingly safe. I've gone to high school in that area for the past 4 years and there's never been any problems (other than some crazy liberals trying to promote their tree hugging agenda) either in the day time or late hours of the night so dont worry about safety</p>
