Same score both times, retake?

I got a 30 composite both times I've taken the ACT. Only for the June my Science went from a 29 to 25, math 29 to 28 and an increase for the reading and english parts up to a 33. Should I even bother retaking for a higher score or will it not make a difference if I want to apply to top schools?

I don't see why you shouldn't take the Sept. or Oct. test. You obviously still want to increase your score (hence why you took the ACT in June), so taking it again would help you get that higher score you want (I wouldn't suggest taking it more than three times though.)

At top schools, 30 can be kind of low. For example, at Yale, 30 is the lower bound of the middle 50% of students- pretty low. I would suggest taking it again and just see how you'll do- it can't hurt you.

lol yeah you can take the acts as many times as you want and nobody wlil know, so yea

it all depends. If you have time to practice hard, then retake. If no time to prep, then the liklihood of your score increasing greatly diminishes.

btw: a 30 is not good enough for Cal nor UCLA OOS, you'll need a 32 (2100) to be competitive.

if your objective is the top schools, then you should prep some more and shoot for a higher score to make you more competitive (a 30 is a nice score already, but maybe not enough for the top schools). Good luck gr2.
