I am a current senior and I am trying to decide whether to take ACTs standby again October 22nd.

I have already taken them twice, and my highest composite is 30 and I have a 31 superscore. I am applying to most schools early so the only schools the new scores would be sent to are McGill, USC, and Boston College.

My GPA is around 25-50th percentile for these schools, and they are some of my top choices, so would it be worth retesting? Both of my scores were without any prep. Thanks!

Both for SAT and ACT, I think taking it more than twice looks bad to colleges. A 30/31 is good. Consider taking the SAT if you never have? Some people do significantly better on one test. Good luck!

They will only know that you tested many times if you send the scores everytime. If your score increased significantly to a 30, then there is a good chance it will go up again. If it was 29 or 30 both times, then it probably won’t increase.

Only you can know if you can bring your score up. Look at your subscores and see if you can raise them a point or two and if that will in turn raise your composite. Remember to round up. i.e if your composite is 30.5 it is a 31!. I say go for it…don’t look back and say, what if…
