As an upcoming senior, I am looking into which schools I should apply to and which ones I want to attend. SDSU and Cal Poly are 2 schools that are probably at the top of my list. I am planning on majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. I was wondering which school would be better for business. I know I have to get into the schools first, but I was just curious on which one was better for my major. Thanks!
Academically they are both excellent schools. The differences would be more social. SDSU has far more undergrads and a “different” vibe vs SLO. Both should give you good internship opportunities. Get your acceptances first, plan a visit on admitted students day and then decide. Make sure you have several safety and match schools beside these 2 on your list.
Remember a happy student= a successful student.
Good luck.
Networking is very important for business and the SDSU business network is pretty strong in the San Diego area. However if you want to work elsewhere in California SLO would be better. In San Diego they’re pretty comparable but I would give the edge to SDSU.
I second what @Gumbymom said. Also re: internships - if you want to have an internship during the school year, SDSU will have more opportunities for that since there are a ton more companies in the San Diego area than in SLO.
