So I have a 3.52 GPA and I did really bad on the SAT, I got a 1420. Will San Jose reject me?
also my Eligibility index is 3716
What major? Your EI is high enough to get you accepted to most majors at SJSU. Exceptions would be Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Bus Admin/Nursing and a few others. Check the link for the EI and your intended major. Just remember the EI thresholds to change depending upon the competitiveness of each year’s applicant pool.

Good Luck.
I originally wanted to major in health sciences but the EI for that is 3700, so does it not cut too close?
According to the chart, Health Sciences EI is 3700, so you are just over. Apply for the Health sciences major as your first choice and select a less competitive major as an alternate such as Biology-Microbiology which is 3500. Like I stated in my above post ^^^, the EI’s will change from year to year so it could go lower or higher. Apply and find out.
Oh i didn’t know you could choose two majors. So if i get rejected for my top choice (health sciences) then they will accept me with my second less-competitive major?
@jkoulakani: I am mistaken. This is from the website:::
“You must also enter an alternative major on your application to SJSU. We will use this information for advising purposes only, and will not consider your alternative major in the admission process.”
So if you feel you may not get into Health Sciences, you could consider a different major. I do know that Cal Poly Pomona will consider your alternate major, if your first choice is not available.
What do you plan to do with a Health sciences degree?
