why isnt santa clara even ranked on US news rankings? Is it that bad of a university. I know the rankings are kind of dumb but still.. arizona state is even ranked on it. Is this school not as good as i thought?

It is in the top 2 or 3 of Masters Universities - West

yeah they typically don't do doubles if a university has already recieved a high mark elsewhere

yeah i was wondering the same thing JtotheEW.
santa clara did rank on businessweek, but bretjohnson do you mean if it ranked highly on another list with US news then they don't try and repeat it or ranked highly on another magazine altogether? If its the first one, then I still wish SC would get some sort of recognition w/ the undergraduate programs.

yeah thats what i meant, i just wish they'd release my financial aid

Santa Clara is a Master's University (meaning they don't offer any Phd programs) and therefore it doesn't appear on the USNews Undergraduate Rankings. But it does appear on the Master's University - West at #2.

Cal Poly SLO is ranked #10 (on the Master's University list), and many consider it to be on par with UCSC, UCD, UCSB, and UCI...so Santa Clara's rank definitely means its academic quality is up there.

Yep ^^^#2. It's a wonderful school!

oh okay, that makes sense now, thanks! so if it doesn't offer Phd programs it cannot be on the undergrad ranking for US News? because SC is on the undergrad rankings for businessweek.

I think Bretjohnson meant that since it was ranked on the 'Masters Universities-West' list it won't be listed on the 'National Universities' list (with PhD programs).

Schools like Santa Clara are kind of "in the odd spot" for USNews rankings. The school isn't an LAC, and it's not a full university. It is a university where the highest degree is a Masters...and for some ODD reason there isn't much mention made of that list at all. SCU has consistently ranked VERY highly on the Masters lists for the West...I believe they are now number 2.

Second to Trinity U; another excellent school which is in San Antonio. Both attract a similar clientele though TU has a football team (D3) which was awarded the game changing play of the year award in the National Championship game monday night,
