Santa Monica College Scholars Program Help

Hey guys, I'm going to be attending Santa Monica College this Fall in hopes of transferring to UCLA as soon as possible. And I also want to get into the Scholars Program. I'm taking three AP's (Calculus AB, Micro/Macro Economics) and my GPA is 3.5. But the thing is, I live overseas (in Taiwan) and therefore, I can't get the English test requirement until I arrive in Santa Monica. I'll be getting to the States two weeks before the start of the semester. It's also too late for me to take the AP English test. Can anyone give me tips on how to sign up for the Scholars Program? Because I heard that it's a great boost in getting into UCLA. Thanks for any advice.

To increase your chances of getting into UCLA (and other UC schools), here's some tips:

Go to assist.org and look at the articulation agreements between SMC and the UCs. Aim to finish more than the minimum in major prep courses you need to transfer and also to finish IGETC.

When you arrive, make a counselor appointment and create "some" plan of the classes you're going to take. Also, keep in mind that some scholarships are GPA-based. I've heard, but don't know for sure, that eligibility for the UCLA regents scholarship for transfers requires a 4.0 cumulative requirement.

Anyways, here's some tips. Hopefully, someone else can answer your direct question.
