-Please, let me know how to fix it and how appealing it is. Thank you.-
To Whom It May Concern,
I want to begin with thanking you for taking the time to reading my letter.
In the beginning of my fall term, I fell into a huge depression. My anxiety levels spiked up as well. My father was rushed to the hospital various times due to his cancer. This added into my depression and anxiety. Unfortunately because of that, I was unmotivated and didn’t care about my life. Therefore, my grade suffered. My mental illness didn’t allow my grades to have the growth they were supposed to.
Fortunately, I received the help I needed. I am currently on medication and looking for a therapist. Because I bounced right back and tried my best, I’m currently .1 away from meeting the satisfactory academic progress. I already created a plan with my advisor. In addition to that plan, I set more goals for myself to not fall back. I gave myself deadlines for assignments, and cleared a lot of space in my schedule dedicated only for schooling. With the situation the nation is passing by, I am trying to take all the positivity and put it towards my studies. I am using the free time I have now to critically think about all the lectures and assignments I have. In addition, I am starting to meet and contact my professors when I need to. I also am starting to use all of the benefits and resources DePaul has to offer me. I understand that what I went through was rough; however, with the help I am now receiving, I will try my best to not let it get in the way of my studies. I will attach a few documents to proof my anxiety disorder and depression, my fathers illness, and the police report from the time I fell victim to sexual assault.
Thank you so much for taking the time and reading my letter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

This is better than your first draft…but really, you didn’t need to start a whole new thread.
Beside medication…what help have you already received that helped you bounce back.
@thumper1 sorry i’m new to this. i also seen a therapist but i’m in between therapists right now. should i add that in?
If you have seen a therapist, yes, I would, add that. If you are between therapists because you are now at home rather than in college town, put that too. But succinctly! Don’t ramble on.
Would this be better? I added a few points. Does it sound like I ramble on?

This added into my depression and anxiety. Unfortunately because of that, I was unmotivated and didn’t care about my life. Therefore, my grades and GPA suffered. My mental illness didn’t allow my grades to have the growth they were supposed to. During my winter quarter, I realized the mistakes I made during my fall quarter. I tried my best to pick up my grades; however, I fell back into a depressive state due to being a target of sexual assault.
Fortunately, I seek out help. I am currently on medication and I’ve been to therapy; however, because of the situation the U.S is facing, I’m looking for a new therapist. In addition, because I bounced right back and tried my best, I’m currently .1 away from meeting the satisfactory academic progress, but that doesn’t mean I will stop trying my hardest. I already created a plan with my advisor. In addition to that plan, I set more goals for myself to not fall back.
