I am a member of my college's magazine committee and the History association. I love spending my time doing intellectually stimulating things like reading books on philosophy, physics, history of mathematics, political ideas, biographies and History. I have played chess at the district and state level. I love adventurous activities such as mountaineering, hiking and rowing. It may sound unusual for a person who loves library to climb mountains, my friends tell me so, but I feel that's unique about me.

TUTION
I know the tution is very (very, very) expensive, but they said (I emailed them) that they offer a substantial aid, including even a few full scholarship, so it sounds like a long shot!

This forum has been left vacant for eternity, so thanks for filling the vacancy by taking the initiative to post something. Anyway, I’m also applying to SLC… actually, I just had an interview last night!

I haven't visited the school, but I had the opportunity to have an interview in Minneapolis with an alumnus of the school. This is what I learned (and these are points that I found particularly amazing about the school):
Sarah Lawrence does not rank and put formal grades on papers and tests. Rather, teachers give you a set of comments and recommendations based on the outcome of completed work. Although formal grades in courses are recorded in a transcript, students usually don’t see them until their junior and senior year when applying to graduate school.
Students get to choose their professors during the first week of school in a process of interviewing.
Classes are then divided into groups of about fifteen to twenty people in a seminar setting. The classes, taught by your chosen professor, are composed and organized with people of computable personality types. Admission representatives base this compatibility theory on students’ teacher recommendations from first year applications.
Students have concentrations, rather than majors.

The school doesn’t accept ACT or SAT scores when applying
The school is only about thirty minutes from NYC.

i have heard from the Student Guide to Colleges, and one of the students there said " and you can be sure of two things, there's always things to do and financial aid will get smaller as u go on"

is that true???? cus SL cost as much as some of the big schools.... i know my parent would be like " if it cost that much, why don't u go to CM or U of Michigan or UCLA (if i get into any of them lol KEEP UR FINGERS CROSS FOR ME! :p) for that amount of money?

i hope i'm wrong. cus i def, am applying there

I'm applying to SLC as well.
I am from the Nortshore of Chicago.
White
GPA: 3.5 out of 4
ACT: 29 (but not showing them because they don't want it)
Head of the radio station, Captain of Varsity Bowling, JV Soccer, Club soccer, Attend classes at the Art Institute of Chicago for Fashion Design, Illustration, and Figure Drawing, Started my own fashion company JR year

I also had an interview that went well and I've met with the head of admissions.

I don't really know if this school is for me. My dream school is NYU.

Well I got rejected from there so I guess we don't have to worry about that. I really want to go to school in a city. Also, the program I was applying too was only 300 students. I guess I'll be transfering in now, so I need to find my 2nd best option.
