SAT 1's and SAT II's

Son’s scores:

SAT I’s M 700, WR 590, R 630
SAT II’s Physics 610
Math 1 670

Wtd GPA 3.6+ (which in our high school is the top 20%)

How strong of a candidate is he - has over 200 hours community service, involved in lots of sports (Varsity level).

Mixtures of honors/AP (more honors) and regular college prep courses

I’d say he’s pretty strong. I got into CAS (and than switched to COM) with a 1960 SAT similar SAT II scores. My GPA was slightly higher but still, I think your son will be fine. Good luck!

He’ll be fine with the math score! Tell him to apply into a math related major and he should be especially guaranteed in. Well, not guaranteed… You know how universities are haha. But he really should have a good chance! I got into COM with a 3.8 and an 1850 SAT and a wonderful essay:)
Oh, and my SAT II’s were TERRIBLE. They don’t really mean that much though… Barely any weight is placed on them. I think the university just wants to see you take them so that they can compare how well high schools have prepared their students in particular subjects- but that’s just my guess. Good luck to your son!

As long as he’s not applying for the College of Engineering he should be fine.

He seems like an average/above average candidate and will probably get in.
