The ones at an angle only pass right through the lens if they hit the center of the lens. Most other angles would diverge I think. Also, the light rays have to pass through. That’s how it was shown on the diagram.
@gmanhax I think we’re talking about the same question… there was a diagram with 3 points A,B and C marked.
you’re wrong since you always find the length of an object same in the same frame which means that if you’re in a spaceship moving at 0.7c and observing a desk in front of you, you would perceive the object’s length same.
hey guys, a random question but i usually get 11-12 wrong on practice tests (min 8 max 14) and I found this test pretty difficult. or at least harder than i expected. do you think there’s a chance i would’ve gotten 15-16 wrong or more? like can it suddenly drop to about there?
if anyone has experience like that please please please help, if you don’t it’s fine any comment is welcome please i don’t know if i would’ve done slightly worse than normal or worse worse worse than normal.
@changjin9792 But weren’t you measuring the length of the space station from the spaceship? So you’re not in the same reference frame, right? I don’t really remember the question too well. What was it?
Yeah, there are two different frames. One was a stationary space station and the other was a moving space station. You are measuring from the stationary one, and comparing that station’s length with the moving one’s length from the stationary station’s reference frame.
So if you were comparing the lengths, the answer will obviously be that the station’s length is longer, right? But if it wasn’t on a comparative basis then it would remain the same.
Yup, I put longer. And yeah, if it was in the same frame, then the lengths would be equal.
So what’s the answer?
longer
Scores come out tomorrow morning!
Do you know approximate time & timezone by which scores are released?
Found a loophole - my school uses Naviance as a college organizer, and the scores were up early in there under the “test scores” section. WOOHOO 800!
@EvenIAmOdd Congratulations
I checked Naviance and I cant find any test scores :/. I thought you just input your scores yourself on Naviance???
Your school receives your score and inputs them on Naviance. Or at least that’s what I’m assuming. The school probably gets them before us, so they probably could potentially have the scores up there before we actually receive them on collegeboard. For my school, however, they usually take a couple weeks to do so.
800 too!
780! Seeing as I was expecting low 700s, this is awesome! Good job everyone!
I jumped from 470 to 730 how cool is dat
