My D2 is thinking about applying to Georgetown. They need this 3 subject tests which is more than other colleges. Now other colleges which need only 2 explicitly state that a prospective student must choose one out of Maths 1 and Maths 2 .
GT does not state this explicitly so I am wondering can she do Maths 1 and Maths 2 and English Lit
No point taking both maths in my opinion. Take math 1 if she is in Algebra II now or take Math 2 if she is in pre-calc/calc.
how will she meet the 3 subject requirement
By taking 3 subject tests. Unless she applies EA, then she really only needs 2 tests.
What is her intended major? I agree that both maths isn’t a great idea.
Her intended major is Economics. She studies under the Britsih system and has only done the sceinces up to the ‘Honours’ level
@hwhat thanks for your reply. Why do you say that 2 would do for EA.
it says on the website
I haven’t taken the SAT Subject Tests yet. Can I still apply Early Action?
Absolutely. If you are a senior and have not yet taken recommended SAT Subject Tests you may still apply Early Action and your application will receive full consideration. We do recommend that you register for these exams in the event that your application is deferred to Regular Decision.
so technically she god do 0 sat subject tests
For what I’ve been told/heard from other students and other peoplepeople (maybe from adcoms if I’m not mistaken), they mean to say that the 3 recommended tests are not necessary for EA, but 2 is fine. However, 3 is absolutely necessary for RD, as there is a fine line between “recommended” and “optional”
@hwhat318 May I know what is a “adcoms”
It really means admissions committee, but it has also come to mean admissions officer.
