SAT 2300 - Will my score ever get that high?

Hey guys, I'm a freshman. In 7th grade I took the SAT for the first time and got 1670 (M - 570, CR - 560, W - 540). In 8th grade (last May) I took it again and got a 1940 (M - 670, CR - 620, W, 650).

I feel like I've stopped improving since I got to the 600's. I took the October PSAT and I think I only got one score in the 70's (Math). The remaining two I think will be in the low 60's. Honestly I don't even think I broke 190, which sucks.

Now I feel completely hopeless for a 2300+. I'm planning on taking the SAT in sophomore year and junior year, and maybe senior year if I screw up both times. What can I do to keep improving my score, besides the blue book since I'm saving my tests? I really really really really x 3 want a 2300+.

Honestly if you read the forum you’ll see that people go from scoring a 1400 in freshman year to 2400 in senior year. That’s evident if you look around just a little.

This thread is a call for attention / compliments on your score.

Obviously not a call for attention tREX…

Well there is no cure-all advice for how to get a higher score. There are a ton of threads devoted to each subject, especially CR and Writing.

Guides that have helped me especially are Noitaraperp’s CR guide and Silverturtles massive guide.

in 7th grade I scored like a 15 something. In 8th, I scored a 1610. Then, I took the PSAT as a Junior and got a 198. Took the SAT later in Jan. and scored a 1980 (almost the same breakdown as my PSAT). Then I started studying, and in March, scored a 2240. And finally, took it in October after studying a bit more, and got my 2330.

Just practice a lot, and your score will go up.

@DAL I’m having trouble with noitaraperp’s guide. It hasn’t helped me as much as most people say it does. I try to play devil’s advocate on the passage questions, but something goes wrong and I get it wrong. Any tips?

Message me up if you want, man.

I actually agree that noitaraperp’s guide isn’t as helpful as people say it is. However, “Devil’s Advocate” should be a skill in your repertoire if you want a very high score. I could give you some more specific tips if you message me something a little more specific.

Alright, will do. I’ll try to get back to you soon.
