I'm almost done with my SAT Prep Princeton Review Course for the March 10th SAT. My score is only at a 2020, but I find the class WAY to easy, except for the critical reading section.

Last practice test:
750 math
720 writing
550 critical reading

Sadly, this is the highest I've gotten on critical reading, as my writing and math scores are pretty consistent. I really want to improve my critical reading but I just can't! I can't read quickly or effectively. Any Advice? Also, should I just spend the next two weeks on only math and writing and try to get 800s on those so that my super-score looks good? I was thinking about just stopping studying for critical reading and doing a course on CR over the summer to get that 700+ with math+writing already done due to super score.

If your math and writing scores are fairly consistent then you should definitely study vocab. I agree with yodelo - perhaps try using Direct Hits.

Try studying on your own first and see how well you do, then you can decide whether you want to take a course for it.

"You shouldn’t focus on one subject, but rotate through them to keep it fresh "

I agree with the above.

Also, I think it is too late to study vocab for the March 10 test. Just do the best you can and wait to see your score. You can always take SAT again after some additional focused work on CR. It takes a lot of reading to get your speed and comprehension up.

Yeah. My first sat I got a 570 CR with 780 m and 740 w. I just focused and studied both volumes of direct hits and practiced. But I mean, on Saturday mornings I did like 2 full CR tests. Practicing, (cross your fingers) I think raised my score to a 730. Still waiting foe the march sat scores though. Sigh…

The sat and act have different formats, and different types of questions. Doing well, I’d heard, now realizing it’s pretty true, is mostly about becoming more familiar with the test. So I took a practice test for the sat and the act, and since I did better on the sat, I focused on that. Maybe next year, I’ll take an act in the fall just to see how I do, but I don’t think I’m gonna be studying that hard, if at all, for it.

are there any SAT books that you loved? beside DH…which i just bought…i finished the college board book,Barrons, and Princetons how to crack the SAT, any other suggestions of good review tests?
