is it true that ...some of the colleges are asking for the new SAT...I gave the old SAT and scored maths 750..verbal 670... and i don't want to give it again..But they say ..the top colleges are givin more preference to new SAT..Does anybody know..which colleges fall into that group???...

Most of the colleges our son is considering want you to have taken the new SATs. It's best to look over the application requirements of the schools you're planning to apply to & see what they require. The UCalifornia schools require the new SATs, etc. My son has taken both the new & old SAT, as well as the ACT with writing. This way, he can apply to whichever schools he wants to instead of being limited because he doesn't have a score.

Good luck!

There are a lot of colleges that will not take the old SAT (UC's, University of Chicago, University of Illinois, included). Then there are a number that will take it for 2006 applicants but only if you also submit the old SAT II writing. The decision as to what you need thus depends on where you intend to apply and you should check the sites of all those colleges you are interested in to determine actual rules.
