I got a 2050 on my SAT's

Math - 710
Writing - 740
Reading - 600

I want to go to UMD College Park..

I have a 3.7 and I'm president of 3 Clubs..

I really don't want to take the SATs again...

UMD CP has gotten really difficult in the past few years... is 2050 enough...??

The other thing is College Park only looks at Math and CR.. so I have a 1310/1600...

Should I take the SATs again.. Should I try taking the ACTs?

If you are in-state, your guidance counselor should be able to give you a good idea of chances. It depends on the rigor of your classes as well. Good luck.

I’m in state…

MY guidance counselor gave me little to no help…

That’s why I’m on CC…lol

Sorry about that. Often, guidance counselors have an idea about how kids with similar stats from your school have done. The kids I know who have recently been admitted had high GPAs, but I am not sure of their exact scores. UMCP is very numbers driven. I think you are close.

I used to live in MD for many years, saw many seniors get in to CP.

CP’s median score is 1340, so you fall just a slightly below. You also fall just short of their avg GPA which is 3.75.

I think you have nice EC’s. So if you applied right now, you would have a decent shot. My advice would be to get the Red ACT book, study a little bit, take a couple practice tests. If you are scoring 31+ go ahead and sign up for the ACT.
