SAT II Language with Listening Test Strategy?

I'm taking the Japanese with Listening this Saturday and I had a quick question.

I read somewhere on a thread a while ago that people often take the 20 seconds of silence after the question to rewind and listen to the dialog again. Is this possible?

What are the different strategies with rewinding/fast forwarding/skipping the recorded questions?

I gotta bump this cause I kinda need an answer soon :</p>

It’s possible but it is indisputably cheating.

Okay I didn’t know that was considered cheating… I saw on other people’s posts that they did that (I think).

But I was just wondering if we are allowed to press any buttons at all? Or if they forbid that. It seems like we should have full control of our CD player but everybody finishes at the same time… Then it’s your fault if you made a mistake. I just want to know if we can skip the instructions or the huge periods of silence when you already have the question finished
