I took the June SAT II subject tests, and I got my scores back this morning. I got 700 flat on both the Literature and US History subject tests. Are my scores acceptable or should I retake it? On a side note, I didn't take APUSH, just regular US history.

Anybody … ?

Generally, anything that’s at least a 700 isn’t a liability. What schools are you looking at?

It really depends which schools you are aiming for.

I’m looking at schools like Boston University, UVA, Virginia Tech, and William Mary.

Those definitely are very good for those schools. And on Lit, because it’s a harder test, that 700 may be worth more than even 750’s on other tests, such as Math II. The people on here are aiming for like Jesus Perfection University, and thus consider suicide whenever they receive less than 800. I personally know many many who bombed both lit and USH recently with low 500’s. Be happy at your great scores!

Yeah - those scores are good and the Lit test is very good.

Thank you for your responses. I just was a bit unsure because my parents were freaking out about how low my scores were. Maybe I’ll retake the US History, but I think I’m pretty content with the Literature one.

Freaking out? What would they do if you got a 500?

Lol, anyway… those are very respectable scores for the schools you mentioned.

Aha, well they’re asian so I guess it can’t be helped. x)
