SAT II Math Level Two May 2012

For the ln question it was ln(x)=1.58, what is ln(2x). I did e^1.58=x, then just plugged that into ln(2x).

@Cyanosuree: Yes, that’s correct. And the difference was 9, making the z-score 9/3 = 3.

shoot, 2.something?
wasn’t it f(x) = e^x+x or something like that?
and the two numbers they gave were 1.27 and 1.28? which means the answer has to be between 4.83 and 4.88…? I think I put down 4.85.

WAIT NEVERMIND lol yeah infamous i think that’s what the problem was… but I remember them giving two numbers or something?? aaaaaa darn if I get this one wrong then i’ll be at 42 orz

what specifically was the ln question?

f(x) = e^x + x + k. k was -4.85.

ln(2x) = ln(2) + ln(x) = 2.27 or something.

@studious I agree!!

was 2.27 choice b or c?

wait. so the answer to the population exponential problem is 8… right?

yeah its 8 for the population one

What was the sin c- k one… I am not sure… They have said E but what was E

This thread has really slowed down… Does anyone remember any other questions? I feel really confident about the first 35. The last 15 were a bit tougher, but I think I did well.

EDIT: What’s the sin c-k one? More details?

What was the answer to the quadratic ball problem

I meant the sin C equals k… It has been discussed previously but people have said E was the answer… But that does not help… I can’t type I don’t have my laptop

@stuntopolis it was 22.something

I omitted :slight_smile: just curious, how does one approach those kind of problems? I missed it last year too.
I omit 4 & so far miss none :)

Quadratic regression was 22.4.

sin C = k? Is there anything else about the problem you can remember?

EDIT: To solve, I entered x-values into L1 and y-values into L2. Then, I went to stats and did QuadReg (L1, L2), which gave me the equation. I proceeded to enter the equation into y=, graphed, and then pressed Calc maximum. 22.4, voila!

I agree with Studious, we need answers other questions as well…but I feel like I need to check the first half of the test (the easy part) just to be sure i didn’t mess up anywhere.

the answer was root((9/k)^2-9) for sinc =k

EDIT: can’t believe I’m still checking this :(

I just took it (last one to, I think) That test was HARD! :frowning:

For the Sin c = k problem, I’m pretty sure the answer is A (square root of 9k^2 - 9)

that was E, not A.

R u sure… I don’t even think that was an option… U maybe right though
