Hi!

I have a question about SAT II scores compared to the rest of the file- is one outlier really bad? Example: I got a 2350 on the SAT I (760 verbal, 800 writing, 790 math), straight A's / H's in english classes (including A in AP English first quarter, which I submitted), but I got a 660 on SAT II Lit (A 640 on the first one, and now a 660...) my other SAT II's are a 760 on Math IIc and a 750 on Biology.

What will Princeton do or think about this outlier? To be fair, I guess I'm just bad the lit test.

Same for me, I suppose. I'm wondering the same about my 710 on one test and 800s on the other three.

^^ I don't think one 710 will kill you right there

I'm in the same boat however... I do have an "outlier" score.

My SAT sections are 710, 760, 800, 770, 740, and a f***ing 680 on CR.

I know my 710 is kinda bordering on outlier... but I'm hoping that the psychological impact between 690 and 700 will help me out there.

I am ESL though... so I hope that princeton will give me a little leeway with the 680 CR and the 710 W, although I'm sure that many other ESL kids score 750s on them

omg. i just received my first-take score of sat2 lit and it's 640! i need that grade for ed. I am really nervous as well. I also got 640 on CR, and yup, I am la immigranto. It is really going to bite my behind...

dude, a 2350 is totally sick for your sat score. But if you got that, I'm sure you can up your sat ii's if you studied harder for them.

I have a 2260 sat with an 800 math iic and 780 chem i'm sure you could get that with your 2350 sat

wizard, I don't think yor inference is correct. Although I'm sure captplanet IS capable of such scores, the SAT and the Subject Tests are two entirely different monsters. One may be naturally good at logic and reasoning and do well on the SAT with minimal studying. The SATIIs, however, do require intense studying. While the two aren't mutually exclusive, you can't simply assume a high grade on one means high scores on the other will follow.

guys my problem now is that I only have two subjest tests, which is Math IC and IIC and US History. Am I mistaken if I say that Math IIC and IC count as 1 subject. Does it really go againt if you dont have enough subjest tests cuz unfortunately i cannot sit for 1 more .

Jesus, all of you are f***ing crazy! Like a 710 or a 680 on an SAT2 will destroy your chances! Do you hear yourselves? Yes, the top schools are so superficial that they discard any applicant who doesn't have 750 or above on every board test. I remember at lest 2 kids from last year who were REJECTED and had 1600 SAT1. If you don't believe me go check out the RD decision thread from last year.

Look- the prophet of doom ...

thanks for the props wizard, but taking SAT I's and II's are totally different ball games... I think I'm obviously pretty bad at the literature one (640 --> 660).

stud athlete, you're the smartest kid on this board.
