We all love these (or at least those of us with "low" SAT scores do).

Do you any of you have stories of going from 500's or below to high 600's (or higher) and have you noticed any particular barriers? I went from 530 in writing to 640 in 2 months with no prep... but writing is sketchy. I'm worried about going from 560 M (second try) to 650+.

I know I've made a thread or two about this before, but what is a reasonable improvement range. I'm a rising Junior and my first test results was a 1680 (650 CR, 500 M, 530 W) and my second was an 1870 (670, 560, 640). Since I haven't prepped before should I mark places with 75th percentiles of 2150+ off the map? Is a 2050 (700 CR, 650 M, 700 W) a reasonable goal, or should I go higher (or lower) in something?

For those with wide gaps between plans and goals, what was the goal, did you reach it, and what did you do to make it happen?

i went from a 490 writing to 610 writing. i have no idea what i did. my cr score also went from 600 to 630, and math from 580 to 630. my score overall went up 190 points, from 1680 to 1870. i did absolutely nothing, so i’m doing some real prep now and i’m interested to see how much improvement i’ll get.

I got an 1810 on my second SAT, and with no/ very little prep in between the Oct. test my Junior year and the June Test I recieved a 2110. Not sure what I did, but I liked it. :D

I believe I have the most dramatic SAT score increase. When I took the SAT for the first time my sophomore year I scored a 1630. The score I checked just recently? 2190. I really didn’t “study” at all, the only noticeable practice I did was in mathematics, but that really wasn’t in direct preparation for the SAT either.
