SAT January 2012 (Paleontology, film adaptations, cameras in courtrooms passages)

Hi guys,

The guys on the other thread see to be discussing a different version of the test that was administered across international test centres today.

How about we discuss questions from this version of the test?

Whoops. It’s supposed to January 2013 and the other thread is from last year. Made the same sloppy mistake.

Anyway, let’s start discussing, everyone.

Aren’t you an international?? Those were in the International SAT too.

Am I getting you wrong? I don’t think there are different versions of international SAT.

I’m an international student. Did you take the same test in the US?

The versions are different among international students as well I believe, as my test (from Guam, so it should be the international test) had none of the passages above.

Ugh I did a fourth CR section but I can’t remember it :(

Yes i remember that passage,it was the hardest of them all :o

Those were in the international students exam.
How did you do on the essay? I went with a personal experience example and am not really happy about it.

I gave examples from Scarlet letter and tried involving gandhi, but it was hard to come up with examples

Did you guys have a different prompt than me?

^Same with me.
I wasted the 4-5 of minutes thinking of examples and I still had nothing.
Wrote one and a half pages. It was ghastly

I used To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies.

I used Harry Potter and Cars 2. I don’t they’ll be impressed

I guess you guys got a different prompt than me, as I have no idea of how’d you use these examples in my prompt lol.

What wwas your prompts guys?

Well, I could almost not think of any examples for mine. The TKAM and LOTF ones were sort of twisted, but I think I expressed it well enough. I wrote 2 pages, anyway.

Wait how did you use those two books to support it?

That would require me to disclose the prompt.

yes i got the cameras in a courtroom. sooo hard!

Imagine! - urge to take sailor’s point of view vs mark something relief that they found the land??? I chose latter…
