SAT Math II June Discussion

@physicsgod981 to do that problem I looked at the answer choices and just plugged in sinx for each x, and because one answer choice was f(x) = 1-x^2, and 1-sin^2x = cos^2x that was the right answer

The problem gives you f(g(x))=cos^2x. g(x)=sinx. f(x)=1-x^2. Just plug g(x) into f(x). So 1 - (sinx)^2 = cos^2x

The parametric one slope was -1/3

@indabasszone wasn’t the question asking you to find f(g(x)), not f(x) based on f(g(x))

whut i got -1/2 for parametric

The question asked to find the function, f, based on f(g(x)) and g(x)

5 blank and 1 wrong, is 800 still possible?

N^k was one of the 4 i omitted. I just skipped it right away hoping to come back for it but I ran out of time T.T
I think i got -1/3 I don’t remember what the question was exactly so I can’t be sure.

Was the shaded circle one x^2 +y^2 is less than 9???

Yes, less than 9

The triangle with the three points was 136.5 right?

What would 5 wrong 2 skipped be? Does the curve change from month to month?

Yes the area was 136.5

How is the area 136.5??

@purplepuffin the three points were (-3, -6), (10, -6), and (0, 15). base = 13 (10+3), height = 21 (6+15), area = 13*21/2 = 136.5

was the one with f(x+2)/2 8?

@javalemcgee23 it was 6

can someone explain this to me i got f(3) = 8 f(1)=0

@javalemcgee23 iirc, the function was f(x) = f(x+1)/2, and you were told that f(2) = 4.

if f(2) is 4, then you know that f(3) was 8

f(1) is f(2)/2 = 4/2 = 2

8-2=6

Crap I got the area question wrong… I put the height as 15 instead of 21…forgot to calculate the 6 from the bottom.
Slope was -1/3… I solved it after the test…Ugh I put -5 lol.
The 180 dividing n^k was 30… I also thought that it was 180/n^k and was confused during the test cuz both 6 and 9 worked… So I just guessed and put 6.
So far I’ve gotten 3 wrong lol and 8 omitted smh. Is there even a possibility that I’d get 750?
