SAT May 2009 Math

yes powerbomb

How many factors does 4 have? Do you include the 4 and the 1? You people reckon the Maths questions were a little easier this time round?

anyone get -1 for one of the fill in ones??? i kept getting it.

but u can’t have a negative in the fill ins.

for the agricultural one you couldve also just multiplied the number they gave you by .8

for the 8%/2% one, did they say 1040 was EVERYBODY, or just split between agriculture/construction?

venn diagram was a free response

Any more context you can provide? I really have no recollection of answer it… Unless it was the one where how many people chose BOTH blank and blank. But I thought that was MC…

what was the one with the construction and agriculture jobs

Just .8 times the total number of agriculture + construction is the answer…It was just split between agriculture and construction.

Zean, you do include 1 and 4 as factors of 4.

no i did not get any negatives…

man i wish i had my graphing calculator, i though ti would not need it, but then the last question for one of them was like intersection of two quadratics, and i was like duh. i left that one blank

1040 split between the two. it was actually rather nice that way…

NJ - split.

u do .08 x 1040

…i think .

Wait, you guys are thinking of the 1040 question wrong. .1x = 1040, solve for x. .08 * x = answer.

Can we go over the one with three points on the number line and one point off, what has to be true? I still don’t agree with the generally accepted answer, I put D rather than A.

Still can’t believe I put 361 for the tin/copper one…

For Venn, you added the ones that intersected with only one other. I checked this by adding up all the numbers, and they did indeed add up to 5000. (I thought they might try to trick us).

NJ - split.

u do .08 x 1040

…i think .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.8 not .08
8% of 10% = 8/10.
It was not 8% of 100%.
Bob.Dylan > why isnt 361 correct for that tin/copper question?
^do you know what the correct answer was??
Apparently it was a 19:1 copper to tin ratio, asking for the pounds of tin. I thought it was the other way around, but everybody seems to say otherwise…
lol um…
Because you need 361 copper and 19 tin…
That’s a 1:19 ratio. The question asked for tin. I can confirm this with 100% certainty, as I made sure to check. I got 361 at first too ^^
we’re not going over tin/copper anymore. Answer is 19. moving on.
o…actually now i forget which answer i put, 361 or 19…hopefully i put the right one.
I’ve been trying to move on, but everyone is ignoring me.
The question. With. Three. Points. On. A. Line. And. One. Off.
bobdylan - i don’t recall that one…can u explain it more?
