When Tufts says no score choice for the SATs, do they also want to see the SAT II scores, in addition to the SAT I scores - even if daughter is submitting ACT scores? ACT scores are better but SAT had higher essay score.

They’ll just use her best test, which is apparently the ACT.
The writing score on the SAT doesn’t really matter anyway.

In fact if you are admitted to Tufts School of Liberal Arts and you score above 760 on Writing, you do not need to take English I and instead English 2, and more and more colleges are looking at the SAT Writing score, esp. liberal arts colleges.

Does anyone know if you can withhold the SAT IIs though? Is there an equivalent ACT in writing or is it just the essay?

I’m afraid I don’t now the answer to if you can withhold the SAT subject tests, but I can tell you the answer won’t be relevant to the admissions process. We’ll use the higher test ACT v SAT and basically ignore the other. You could send everything without negatively affecting admissions chances.

The appropriate substitute for the SATs at Tufts is the ACT+Writing option.
