SAT Practice Test #1

So I just finished the first SAT practice test out of the college board book. I got a 2130: 620CR, 800M, 710W. I only missed one question on the math!!!:D I gave myself a 10 on the essay, but I did the math, and even if I got a 2, it would still come out to 2000 even, which was my ultimate goal. Is this good enough for the Ivy League bound student? The practice test score, I mean. Will a 2130 put me on a good track for the real SAT this Saturday? Any comments are appreciated!

This is really impressive. However, you should aim for around a 2350 to be considered a competitive applicant at the ivies.

In January, the curve was harsher and I didn’t notice that the real test was substantially harder than the BB practice tests. But I scored in the 2100-2200 range on my practice tests and actually got a 2240. So it isn’t too unrealistic to aim for a mid-2300.

“Ivy-bound”… beware those words. I scored 2350 and was rejected from Princeton, Columbia, and Stanford (to be fair, I only applied for full scholarships under Questbridge). Your worries about SAT score are unwarranted. Once you reach a certain level, the top colleges will look at things other than tests and grades.

chowling, I’m sorry to hear that! 2350 is very impressive! Nice job! Yes, I am aware that my SAT score isn’t the only thing that a college will look at. I have plenty of other aspects to my life besides standardized testing.
