SAT Reasoning vs. Subject Tests

Hey CC,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I was wondering what weight subject tests are given in comparison to reasoning in the academic portion of the admissions process? I got a 2400 on reasoning, but a 760 on math 2 and a 750 on bio.

Currently looking for a bit of a shot at top 10 schools, but in terms of test scores, did I shoot myself in the foot with kind of mediocre subject tests (especially math)?

Thanks

Generally, the main SAT (reasoning test) is going to be more important. Congrats on your scores! Your subject test scores are great too.

With a 2400, I really would not worry about the SAT2 scores.

You are fine.

You are fine. Focus on ECs, essays, go to a movie.

SAT II scores seem to be only considered by the very top colleges in math & science majors. Your scores are great and wouldn’t hurt you at all.

please tell me you’re joking…

Ok. Thanks for the encouraging comments guys! Was stressing out because the math percentile is in the 70s :/.

I would assume, that since you probably worked hard to get your 2400, you could retest the math II for an 800.

But it wouldn’t kill you to not re-take anything.

some of the stuff on this site is amazing.
