SAT retake or toefl?

<p>hello
i did not grow up here; been in the states for seven years. speak a different language at home. i took my sat twice.<br>
first time 2090 : 600 verbal 690 writing 800 math
second time 2110 : 660 verbal 650 writing 800 math
im applying first tier universities. last chance is this october.
should i retake? or is toefl better?</p>

<p>I’d say retaking is better.TOEFL is just a language proficiency criterion. =)Good luck!</p>

<p>thanks GatitaZ !
any others out there?</p>

<p>You haven’t taken TOEFL at all? Why can’t you do both?</p>

<p>Well, I’ve heard that if your CR is higher than 600 then you won’t have to take the toefl. Furthermore, your resident status right now should be at least permanent since you have lived here for 7 years so you wouldn’t be considered as an international student, hence no toefl. </p>

<p>ps I think I have to take one too :(</p>

<p>well taking both is possible…
but i just don’t want to spend 150 dollars if there’s no need to. plus, i’ll be loaded with college apps this fall. i’ll need to keep my grades up, do college apps, essays, interviews, on top with that, i’ll need to take two tests. - it seems a bit too much. so i want to focus on one and do well on it.
i just don’t know which is worth more the try.</p>
