SAT // SAT with Essay

I am wondering what is the difference between these two tests. Clearly the ‘SAT’ does not have the essay part. But will it have the writing part, and if so how would the score for the writing part look like? 20-80? 200-800? And if it’s the latter, will I be able to superscore the writing score from the ‘SAT’ with the writing score from the ‘SAT with Essay’?

Are you talking of the redesigned SAT?
The essay will be optional. But If you applied to schools that require it, then you need to take it.

No, I’m talking about the current SAT. I was trying to register for the October SAT and there were two options. @Jr12317

Maybe you saw the SATI and SATII(subject tests).

Well, someone post SAT with essay and without essay so probably you are right. Just look if the schools you will apply ask for the essay.

The SAT has an essay. It’s the first section.

Yeah, it does have an essay section. When you select a date to take the SAT, it gives the option with SAT essay/SAT. Right now, those options are given since the redesigned SAT will be administered on March 2016. Remember that they always release the months from Oct to June.
