So...what Colleges can I be reasonably sure of getting into and which colleges will I need to have a lot of luck? I realize that these scores are semi-decent, but I'm still pretty nervous.

Do you think it'd be worth retaking?

I would like an in-depth analysis of how each individual subject score will effect my chances of getting into which colleges -- ie: how will the ****ty math and science scores affect my chances at Harvey Mudd?

You should post this on the "What is my chance" section

your act math and science scores are not bad at all. they are not as strong as your other subjects but still represent a 3 sigma score. you obviously have the brain cells and while they may not be optimized for math/science right now (they are obviously in science/reading mode) i think mudd will see you for real potential... that is, if you really want to go to mudd and express this in your essays.

sorry this is not in-depth. i don't think you should be worried because you still have a good shot.

SAT:
Critical reading - pretty good, though an 800 would probably not be too hard to attain.
Math - not bad, but try to boost it up to 750 or something.
Writing - very good

Your overall SAT score is probably enough to get you into any one of the top ivy league universities, like Duke, Columbia, and even Harvery Mudd. The scores are also top notch for any of the UC schools, and if you were interested in Berkeley perhaps, your scores indeed reflect a strong potential to get in. It's just that math score is kind of low.

ACT:
English: great
Math: not bad, but may want to shoot a little higher for some of the harder schools
Critical Reading: horrible
Science: not bad, but again, improvement may not be a bad consideration.

Overall, your ACT score is great for essentially any school you want to go to, and I'm assuming Harvey Mudd is your number one choice. But, than again, I could be wrong... it's probably some place like Duke or one of the UC schools, right?

It would be helpful if you would provide an idea of which schools you're looking for. Right now, your question is difficult to even begin to answer.

Also, don't expect much in the way of "chances" based only on your numbers. Most people applying to the top-most schools have impressive numbers, so there has to be something behind them to back them up. Without that 'something,' high scores mean very little, and with it, a lower score can be slightly compensated for.

Congrats on what you've accomplished, but provide a little more info for more helpful responses.

these posts are so retarded for a couple reasons:

-everyone that posts them always tries to downplay their scores so others give them massive compliments
-people dont realize that anything above a 2100 will get you into ANY of those colleges that have been stated if you have the right other things (GPA, extra curriculars) and that a 2400 will be REJECTED if you don't have those things. the SAT is NOT the end all-be all of tests. Look at the averages, you wont find many schools with averages over 2200 at all, and even if you do the fact that their average is there means they DO accept kids with 2100 type scores. work on other things, you're scores are fine. but as to the whole semi-decency of your scores, if it makes you feel better about 1/4 of my graduating class beat you.

Dude, those are awesome scores, not semi-decent OK? you are already in the 97 or 98th percentile in the nation. don’t downplay your scores like that. You make everyone else seem stupid.

@praneeeth: when people are talking about top schools like Mudd, 97th/98th percentile is fairly common…
