Hi, I scored 2260 in SAT [760 in Reading, 800 in writing and 700 in Math]. My dream is to get into Stanford/Ivy leagues/similar colleges. I have research experience at Universities and leadership in volunteering for several years. My grades are decent. I got many B's in sophomore 1st semester but only A's since then. I would greatly appreciate your advice whether I should retake SAT. Thanks a lot!

a 2260 is very respectable for top colleges, and is either around, or above, their average. It definitely could not hurt if it was over 2300. But only retake if you’re SURE you can raise your math, otherwise, retaking may hurt you for schools that require your entire testing history.

Have you taken any SAT2? It is required or highly recommended for most Ivy caliber schools. You are running out of time. You better use your time on something else than retaking SAT1. 2260 is good enough for all school and getting 2300 would not give you a significant boost. Try to improve your essays and GPA.

Thank you very much for all of your responses, that really helped a lot. Yes, I took SAT Math Level 2 recently, hoping for the BEST. :-)
